A little background: I created my office from a second bedroom in the Greenway Crest condo I bought when I moved to Dallas from New York in June of 2014. Overall, my goal was to "prettify" the space and surround myself with things I love that inspire my creativity. So many things to love about the transformed space, with a mix of high-end and affordable products from several vendors (listed below with links to the products). To showcase my extensive collection of design books, I placed two Kallax bookshelves from IKEA side by side (such a deal at $129 each - although I had to pay my trusty handymen to put those suckers together, as that task was completely out of my skill set!) Taking center stage is one of my favorite pieces of furniture - a $75 table from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore that I painstakingly stripped of its dark veneer to a light oak finish a few years ago for a studio photo shoot (turns out that task WAS in my skill set!) My desk was the dining table in my Saratoga Springs, NY house, but it was a little too large for that purpose in the new condo - but no way was I parting with that labor of love! It fit perfectly in my new office, and it feels really great to find a new use for a much loved piece. The crowning glory of the space is the fabulous Circle Lattice Hanging Lantern in Limed Oak from Shades of Light.
Special thanks to my contractor and friend, Kevin Dillingham and his team at Constructure Services in Dallas for helping me turn this space - and my whole condo - into a home (and for convincing me it was worth the money and extra effort to remove those 1980s popcorn ceilings!)
